After finishing first in the regular season, the Liberty went on to defeat the Minnesota Lynx in five games to claim the championship.

The Liberty have been installed as the +190 favorites to win the 2025 WNBA title by DraftKings, with the Lynx and the Las Vegas Aces, the defending champions from 2022 and 2023, both sitting at +350.

Betting Market Reaction and Increased Interest in Women’s Sports

The Liberty also opened as the +200 favorites at BetMGM, with early market movement shifting the odds to +175. The Indiana Fever saw a notable shift in their odds, moving from +2500 to +1500 as 33.3 percent of the early bets backed them for a 2025 title run.

The growth of betting interest in women’s basketball, particularly in the WNBA, has been significant. BetMGM reported a 113 percent increase in betting on the WNBA year-over-year, with much of the interest driven by star players like Caitlin Clark and a strong women’s college basketball tournament.

BetMGM also plans to expand its offerings for WNBA betting in 2025, including more player props, specials, and futures, while also focusing on women’s college basketball markets.
